Estate Planning

What is Estate Planning?

Estate Planning will allow you to be remembered the way that you would like. To leave a legacy that reflects your wishes and gives purpose to what you have accomplished in life. Without Estate Planning such a legacy is unlikely.

An Estate Plan allows you to better manage your family’s financial future, as well as your own.

Avoid family feuds, after you are gone.

Unfortunately, we can’t protect ourselves against the death of a loved one. However, many families discover that inadequate Estate Planning can increase stress and heartache during an already difficult time, and potentially cause family conflict and division.

  • The purpose of an Estate Plan is to provide comfort and security for one’s family. Professional Estate Planning can determine:
  • How and by whom your assets will be managed during your lifetime - if you become unable to manage them yourself.
  • How and by whom health care decisions will be made during your lifetime - if you become unable to care for yourself.
  • When and under what circumstances it makes sense to distribute your assets during your lifetime.
  • How and to whom your assets will be distributed after your death.
Who needs estate planning?

You do - whether the estate is large or small. This is critical to understand

No one likes to talk about his or her own funeral. Logically, we know it’s going to happen someday but emotionally, we just don’t accept it. The problem is, when you don’t plan for it now, you can create a difficult situation for those you leave behind.

If your Estate is small, you may simply focus on who will receive your assets, manage your estate, pay your last debts and handle the distribution of your assets.

If your Estate is large we will also discuss various ways of preserving your assets and reducing or postponing the amount of estate tax which might be payable after your death. Estate Planning also covers what happens if you are alive, but unable to make decisions for yourself.

An Estate Plan gives you control, even after you’re gone.
